# About Rawson Property Group

> From our first office in Cape Town in 1982 to over 200 franchises across the country today, we've helped thousands of families buy and sell their homes. We're one of the only property groups that does it all — from sales, rentals, commercial and industrial sales and letting, to bond origination and auctions. We even build our own property developments.

## Our story

- **1978** — Bill Rawson starts his own agency, "Bill Rawson Estates", and employs a team of 25 estate agents.
- **1998** — After building the agency into a multi-franchise organisation, Bill launches the franchise group under the Rawson Properties brand.
- **2005** — Rawson launches a national expansion campaign and opens over 56 franchises in Gauteng within two years.
- **2008** — Rawson Finance, our in-house bond origination company, is founded.
- **2016** — The Rawson brand becomes a forerunner in the South African property industry, with over 200 franchises and more than 1,000 agents nationwide.

We care about our clients, our people and our communities, and take part in social investment initiatives as well as industry development and transformation:

- **We heart our neighbourhoods** — Our franchise partners identify pressing needs in their communities and run projects supporting vulnerable women and children, the elderly, animal shelters, and child education and development.
- **Hope for the homeless** — We've partnered with U-Turn, a non-profit dedicated to uplifting the homeless through skills development and job creation.
- **Youth empowerment** — We support the South African Property Charter and mentor youth through the Estate Agency Affairs Board "One Learner – One Estate Agency" programme.
